Title: Override mtl - preserve opacity
Post by: shortcirkuit on 2018-06-28, 01:33:39
hey i was wondering if you could add the feature of material override to allow for opacity maps.

For instance, when you do an override, any leaves in the scene will show up with the opacity map applied so it looks proper.
Also good for forest pack where items such as grass with Forest edge is applied in the opacity map.

Cheers

+1 for this - literally came to the forums to post this for the exact same reason.

When doing 'white' renders for clients to choose compositions, i'd like to be able to show them with correct lighting/shadow intent.  Having leaves as planes makes a drastic difference to the shadows and lighting.

Moving to resolved as there is already a dedicated thread by Ondra, and bumping this in our internal planner.
