Title: Question about corona shadows for photometric lights
Post by: patrick.testa on 2018-06-18, 17:54:48
Hello,
I've noticed that the option to use "area (soft) shadows" with 3ds Max photometric lights seems to be a global value, that can't be changed individually for different lights in the scene. I'can't have a spotlight with soft shadows and one without them in the same scene; if I turn area shadows on/off or if I change the radius, all lights are influenced (of course I've checked that the different lights in scene are not instances...).
Is it normal or is it a bug on my side?
(I currently use 3ds Max 2016 and Corona 1.7)
Thanks for any help about this!

Patrick

Not getting this here. I successfully made one light have softer shadows, and the other one harder.
If you can reproduce this, can you please send a scene? https://corona-renderer.com/upload

Hello Maru,
I’ve updated Max to the 2018 version (with Corona 1.7.4) and now it works correctly!
The problem happened with Max 2016 and Corona 1.7.4...
Thank you for your interest!
