Title: Distance scale interpolation curve
Post by: romullus on 2018-05-14, 19:39:18
I think CoronaDistance would benefit from having distance scale interpolation curve. Sometimes linear interpolation is just not enough. I know that it's possible to plug gradient ramp and use curve controls from it, but it's rather inconvenient to setup and probably not everyone even knows how to do it. Besides who knows how much of time penalty adds use of gradient ramp in a shader tree :]

The faster than gradient ramp solution is plugging it into a 3ds Max Output node, which has curve controls.
But I agree that adding a rollout similar to 3ds Max "Output" in most Corona maps would be a good idea. (maybe there are some counterarguments?)

I think having more controls or a gradient would be a bit of an overkill. If I need to have exact gradient behavior, I can still use what you suggested. A simple 'Bias' or 'Gamma' parameter would be enough, and probably a very simple thing to add.
