The tool tip essentially says the higher the number the more complex the scene. But is there an acceptable range that we should be in for a 'standard' but detailed scene over which we should be considering trouble shooting our setup? Also is there a way to show the biggest problem areas in a scene visually like a sampling pass?
Thanks

Hi, check out

Thanks, that's helpful. So 5-50 would be classed as a normal range. Good to know.

yep, up to 50 is fine, 100-150+ is sometihng you might want to check out/eliminate

Thanks Ondra. So around the 50 region is what you might expect with a correctly set up heavy scene using lots of shaders that have multiple channels activated. And much over that its likely corona is having to work too hard and the user is doing something wrong / unnecessary?
Or is it that for example the scene might have a lot of vegetation that uses a lot of clip maps (using the clip checkbox for guaranteed B/W clip) for the alpha and transparency activated in the leafs and just by the nature of this it could push it in to the 60's for example as its hard for corona to sample, but the user might not have actually done anything wrong in terms of the set-up?
Is there a pass that can be activated that visually shows the intensity of sampling like vray has?
Thanks

Yes, there is, it's called Cinfo_Samplingfocus.

Ah right, thanks. Im C4D and I cant see it on our passes list so I'm hoping it is still to be implemented. Or I have missed it so will clarify on the C4D forum.
