Title: Peter's WIP/testing thread
Post by: peterguthrie on 2013-11-20, 16:18:05
Another old project, mostly going to use this to test Forest Pack I think, very interested to see how Corona deals with s&%* loads of geometry!

One thing I havent got the hang of is displacement. In vray I tend to use the vraydisplacementmod in 2d mode, then use the shift function to bring exploded faces back together. How do I do that in corona, and how do I control quality of displacement in general?

thanks!

What do you mean by bringing back together? If your geometry is no longer continuous after displacement, you need to give it single shading group. If you want to offset the displacement, download the daily build which has the option.

I mean offset (i think!), sorry, I tend to be quite un-technical ;)

ok, that is in the latest not-so-stable build

As keymaster mentioned, offset is available only in the latest daily build which is far from usable. But if you offset displacement just to fix broken corners, then simply apply smooth modifier to the mesh you want to displace, and set angle to 180. :)
