Im not sure if this is a bug or a setup problem of it ive entirely misunderstood the material but no matter what i do i cant get any lights to affect the shadowcatcher material. I have some light materials that ideally id like to affect the shadowcatcher plane but its just not happening. Any ideas?

Select light, go to command pannel>modify tab and in nonphysical properties turn on shadowcatcher illuminator.
-
Ive checked that but it doesnt change any behaviours as far as i can see
-
It works here, i'm not sure if you are doing something wrong.
-
This is the setup

You are using shadowcatcher illuminators with LightMix, right?
There is a known limitation about this: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000516180-known-bugs-and-limitations
(See "LightMix (3ds Max | C4D) does not interactively update shadow catcher material shading results. Solution: use the ">Scene" button in LightMix to bake light properties into scene objects.")
