Ever since upgrading my Corona for C4d to: Version: B1 (core1.7) there have been issues with the VFB viewer not behaving properly. I'm running C4d R-18 on Windows 10. When I render one frame in the VFB window then go to the POST settings for bloom and glare... if my BLOOM setting is 5 for example and I want to type in 25 just to see the changes, it doesn't update anymore. Until I go down to the GLARE setting and type in a number, then BLOOM suddenly updates. Vice versa too, when GLARE doesn't show me any changes... I can go back to BLOOM and change the number...suddenly GLARE updates and shows me the changes. It's all happening laggy & sluggish. ANYONE else seen this? I have tested this in my office on different computers running R18 and R19 with the same sluggish results. The bizarre thing is: the other settings update with INSTANT feeback as they should, changing settings like Denoise amount or Tone mapping Vignette, exposure, etc... etc... all updates FAST in the window.
One more thing, after updating to Version: B1 (core1.7)... I noticed that if I recall an older scene from 4 months ago that ALL of the lights in the scene have been set to a default strength of 50. Even if the older lights were set to a strength of 7 or 24 or whatever... they are now 50. Weird.

Ahhh you didn't mention Bloom and Glare in our previous conversation but I can see what you mean now. It does take some time to initiate. It seems the delay is a lot less with IR running and it's instant if it's turned on prior to rendering.

Actually I did mention Bloom & Glare... because that is my whole issue. But anyway, I don't think we are having the same issue...(because yours works). Mine is turned on before rendering (because it is saved with the scene that way) but it doesn't give you feedback or update visually when you type in a number. Is there a "recommended checklist" for graphics cards? Something we might need to turn OFF or ON?
And like I say - we did not have this problem with the corona version prior to B1 (core1.7).
Thanks. ☺

Hi David,
Sorry I missed that, Are you referring to our ticket conversation? No mention of it there. If somewhere else, I've clearly read past it so I apologize. None the less. As far as I'm aware there's no checklist of such. What's one of the graphics cards or pc setup that is having the issue for example? Personally, my pc is pretty shit :)
i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.80 GHz
16Gb Ram
AMD Radeon R9 200
It does interest me if this is happening to others also.

Graphics card does not matter as it is not used by Corona in any way. (not even for bloom, glare, or any other post effects)
What affects the speed at which bloom and glare is calculated are:
-CPU speed
-render resolution
-number of render elements using bloom and glare
-
I've been experiencing these lags since I first used Corona. Resolution not higher than full HD (1920x1080) and also without any render elements).
The CPU is a 4770k, maybe that's already too old, but at these resolutions and without extra stuff, I had considered it fast enough.
What has always puzzled me was that these lags don't happen always and I never found a reproducible sequence I had to follow to get them.

Everything I render with Corona is 2 different flavors of HD. 1280x720 or 1920x1080. All of our machines in the graphics hub have: 2 XEON 2.70 GHz processors E5-2680 with 64 gigs of RAM. Really never an issue for us on performance... even with After Effects open as well as C4d, plus photoshop.
This is an example of Bloom & Glare. It works of course, but dialing it in is just tons of guesswork because of the lag in the VFB interface.
