Hi!
Ive been testing Corona for a couple days and Im porting a scene I was working with Vray to Corona.
Im VERY impressed with the speed and quality! It's astonishing! Corona become my render of choice!
Here is a WIP Im working on. Modeled in Mudbox and Max. The shader is a mix of a lot of procedural textures and a EXR displace generated in Mudbox.
Any critcs will be very welcome.

In this scene I'm having problems with procedural maps like noise or celular and displace.
Every time I try this, 3dsmax closes...
Any one have tryied displace with procedural maps?
Thanks

Hi FlavioMac ! I tried to put a simple noise on Displacement Slot and Bang ! Crashed Corona + Max. :(
I am testing on the latest Build Nov 13 2013 00:09:21
:(

More WIP closeups!
All procedural textures.
Missing exclude specific IDs in Corona's AO shader.
Loving Corona's simplicity, versatility and speed! It's FAST! :)
Any opinion will be very welcome!

The idea is to make the revenge of the mammals, which ultimately proliferated on the earth after the meteor killed the dinosaurs.
I'll put a small mammal riding the TRex tank!
When I was a kid I found a cat skull, took apart one Revel tank I had and assembled a "pet tank". I even painted it green moss like army!
Today I chose to make it more radical ... TRex Tank! :)
This still a "WIP" and I intend to greatly improve the environment and put more details on the tank. I will make a lot of fallen dead trees in the same direction, as if the shockwave of the meteor. The weather will be more fog war.
The skull was modeled in Mudbox and the rest is procedural OAs gradients, noises, mobiles etc rendered in Corona.
I started using Corona folowing a friend " Kumodot" that is always talking about it! I'm very happy with the corona's speed and versatility! It's very easy to get a very good result in a fraction of time than Vray! Astonishing! I Hope that distributted render, sss, hair and particles get a better implementation soon! I will be using it forever! :)
I'm not Japanese maru! hehehehe :) Im from Brazil!

Wait. Who are the mammals revenging against!? The dinosaurs are already dead, aren't they? :)
-
Revenging the giant reptiles that was aways eating them...
It's just a joke... :)
-
you managed 16.000.000 ray/s ... impressive.
how, what settings did you use?
-
I used coronas's default render settings.
i just changed displace to 1 pixel.
The machine im using is very fast. it's a dual 10 cores xeon. 40 cores with HT on!

Using a skull for the body of a tank is smart and creative, but relying on the gun to make it look cool is not a good idea. You know, guns always make a vehicle looks cooler than it actually is, it doesn't improve your skill.
Maybe you should try to make the tank look cool first before weaponize it.

You are right.
I still making improvements to the tank (metal) parts. There's a lot of pieces to make and atatch on the skull.
I'm don't know if I put the canon in the eye or over the top of the skull, but certainly I have to make a better metal base for it.
Thanks for the critcs!
