Chaos Corona for 3ds Max => [Max] I need help! => Topic started by: vfxnh on 2018-03-29, 00:35:05

Just started with Corona after years in Vray. I'm rendering a product of a piece of furniture on infinity white for use in a E catalog.
I want to separate the object from it's ground plane to be able to:
A) present the object isolated on white,
B) present it on a white background with shadows, and
C) composite those shadows onto another image with the object. Also bonus if there's a workflow that does the same for floor reflections.
Sorry if this is already answered but I went through the Youtube channel and the resources and searched in forum without a definitive answer. Seems it should be a simple matte material solution of something? Is there a tutorial or could someone point me in the right direction as to which matte material or element to use for this? It seems this is not the intended use for Shadow catcher or Rayswitch ?

I need help on this as well. Who knows how to do it?

Hi, it sounds like you should be able to get all the effects you need with the shadowcatcher material. See:

I provided video tutorial for 3ds max and a link for c4d. Shadowcatcher should be exactly what you need. Let me know if you are facing some specific problems with it...
