I have a few hundred models of massively varying size that id like to render thumbnails of.
I want to set up a basic scene and have max batch through them all placing them at origin however i would need the camera to zoom in or out to accommodate each object.
Anyone got any ideas of the best way to do this or even a better way than im currently envisaging?
Thanks
Jack

Thumbnails generation with Connecter doesn't help ?

How do i do that?
I can only see viewport grabs on the files and no way to save them down as jpegs or generate new ones for the files that are missing

Just select all your files in Connecter, then drag & drop to 3dsmax viewport. You'll then get a contextual menu with several options, with one proposing to generate thumbnails.
Obviously, try that with only selecting 3-4 files, to ensure you'll get what you want ;)

Another option would be to utilize 3ds max's area to render options blowup + auto region selected.

God damn thats a powerful system especially with being able to load in your own render studios!!

It kind of works, however i cant figure out how to get it to show each object in frame.
It will only use the camera in the studio rig and wont zoom extents on the object

Good call !!
