Title: Vray to Corona Converter for C4D
Post by: hughannes on 2018-03-20, 11:27:53
We're evaluating switching to Corona atm. From VrayforC4D.
As we rely heavily on a content library that we've built over the years, a Vray to Corona Material Converter would make the decision a lot easier for us.
So my questions is: Is there a Vray to Corona Material converter in the works? If so, when can we expect it?

Many thanx in advance!

Hi, As this was just mentioned in another post, you can try your luck with the following plugin.

Thank you. Tried it. Unfortunately Corona Tools 1.1 doesn't seem to be able to convert Vray shaders. Like Vrays "AdvBitmap" shader (for Textures). Which is required for DR. That's why all our materials are built with Vray shaders exclusively.
So the question still stands I'm afraid.

A converter is on the roadmap for Beta 2 (V-Ray will be the priority for that) - https://trello.com/c/nvWgzgZy/33-scene-converter (https://trello.com/c/nvWgzgZy/33-scene-converter)

Great! Thank you for the fast reply. I guess - since you didn't mention it - Vray shaders will be converted too? (Well, at least the simple ones like the AdvBitmap shader).
Also are you willing to state a more specific release date then "the first half of 2018?

Again, thanx for the fast reply.

Hello,

has this converter been released?
(Sorry I can't check right now because my Corona trial has expired)
