Hi,
Is it normal that beauty EXR output file(2000x1500 px) comes out about 80~100mb or so? I used to get about 8mb or so when saving similar render element outputs in Vray. It's almost 10 times as large.
I don't know if Vray version that I was using was older or Corona latest version puts more data in. Or am I missing better optimized saving option? When saving EXR file in Corona my option is,
Format : Half Float(16bits/Channel)
Type : RGBA
Compression : zip compression per scanline band(ZIP)
Storage Type : Store Image as Tiles
Image Region : Save Full Image
Please let me know some advice.

Are there many render elements saved within this exr?
Are you using LightMix or Denoising?

Yes, about 24 elements total. 5 mask elements of each material and object, respectively, and reflection, refraction, lighting, zdepth...
I use default Denoising but don't use LightMix.
I'm creating VR cube maps now and one folder of 24 render elements sets came out more than 15GB! huge!!!

I am afraid such files sizes are expected.

That sounds extreme. Do you have EXR compression turned on in the save dialog? That would be my first guess. Second would be that you are rendering to deep EXR but I am not actually sure that is possible with Corona.

To be clear, the same image saved out of each renderer using the same compression settings should more or less be the same file size, as both renderers are using the openExr library to handle I/O. I think what Maru is hinting at, is that you might be saving a multichannel exr, where there could be more than the standard four channels (RGBA).
I've been saving HD sized renders that come out at less than 10 mb all the time. Check what channels are being included inside the exr file apart from the standard four.
