Title: Water: help for shader =)
Post by: cecofuli on 2013-11-07, 23:16:06
Hello guy,
I need a little help.
How can we do this shader? The blue water.
I tried different way, absorption, refraction color but no good result.
The lake ground is, obviously, brown dark, and there are some SSS in the water, I think.

Refraction, colored absorption and Bidir/VCM, did you try this?

I think this would require fog feature for refractive materials or SSS.

Here is a lame idea that I came up with: use AO in refraction slot. :)

Great solution Maru!

It's not great. It's crappy. For example objects than intersect with water surface will also make those "contours". But it's the only solution I could come up with and maybe it will be useful as a temporary workaround.

it would be much better when I add distancemap shader

I tried googling it but still not sure, is it something like volumetric fog in games?
