Title: Light intensity and render time

Does light intensity affect render time? Say I use a HDRI that is very bright and I want to use it as a skylight while also using Corona Sun. I could lower the HDRI multiplier to 0,1 or raise the Corona Sun intensity to 10, Is there reason to prefer one over the other?
