Title: How automatic randomize color/texture in Corona?
Post by: cecofuli on 2013-10-24, 15:57:49
Hello guy,
I have to create tons of rocks, with different colors:

* I tried BerconGradient (crash when I try to change Type: Random)
* I tried Multiscatter texture (not work)
* I tried Multiscatter (CGSource ) Crash

Well, I don't want to create 10-20 different ID material with slightly color variation for 10 different rocks textures. Any suggestion?

As far as I know, all those maps use some kind of node ID to randomize stuff and corona is not able to use those IDs in the Shader atm.
It's already requested but I guess you will have to randomize it with a simple Script or something like that.

Mmm.. I think the same.

As you know, there are some script to change randomly maps value?
I've a multi/sub obj material, with 20 CoronaMTL inside, with ColorCorrection in the diffuse and the same diffuse texture for the 20 material.
I would like to change automatically the ColorCorrection HUE ans the Saturation automatically, and not change manually for 20 sub-oject (for 10 different Multi/Suvb obj) =(

EDIT: ZORB

Google multitexture and UVW random - plug and script!

Do you have Forestpack? If you do, you can make a material with Multiscatter Texture, tick "Use Object Color" and then control the variation in Forestpack Object "Color Tint" tab.

No, I haven't.  But Zorb script + Random Mass Script + Multi/sub Obj is enough (for now). I will wait the new Corona version ;-)

I am not a Scripter, but i did a little tool (To my use) that shuffle the MaterialIDs on a set of objects, so you can use multi-sub...

It's not perfect and it has some bugs, but they are easy to contour... If you want to check...

The possibilities may be unlimited but the tools are not. Just wasted a whole evening testing bercon maps with corona and found a devastating bug which lead to throwing the whole bercon crap into the garbage bin (RAGE!) . Multitexture is way too limited and the bitmap loading option is just fubar - honestly, who really likes to use that map O_o?!

If someone had some real alternative to randomizing a ton of maps/materials by scripting it would be great!

I miss This possibility very much too. So i will join the crowd. To me it is far more needed than fx. SSS.

A simple material modifier on the objects you want to use randon multisub map not work?!

I'm not sure but I think "Ky_Color Variator" doesn't work neither...
Not sure if it's plugin side or render.
