Title: fireflies it is
Post by: lef on 2017-11-24, 11:47:26
Hello!
I have the fireflies case but I can solve the issue ...
I red some topics here about reflections , filtering , I raised the GI vs AA up to 60 and LSM 20 but nothing worked ...
I have 3 ies in the roof (from the corona ies folder),corona materials -sigershaders ,  no albedo problems, corona portal Mtl etc
I am a relatively new user (about a year) but never had this persisting issue...

any ideas ??
(and rendering process is a bit slower than usual too ! )

You mean you can't solve the issue, right?

Never do that! You are getting 60 GI samples and 1200 (!) direct light samples per pass now! This is not going to help at all! Reverting to defaults would be the first thing to do (Scene > Reset settings).

What kind of lights? Can you try what happens if you use native 3ds Max lights?

,corona materials -sigershaders
This could be an issue. Are you using the newest versions from https://www.sigershop.eu/free-3ds-max-plugins/ ? If not, please update and try again, or just try rendering without those plugins.

Other than that you should check whether your noise is in direct or indirect lighting - here is how: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/5000516731

thank you for the reply  !!

- yes I meant I can't  :p ( that's why I am writing here!)
- I thought that by rising the multipliers it will eliminate the fireflies (obviously nothing changed)
- The roof lights are corona sphere lights with IES (from the corona's ies folder)
- I think, that the materials are ok , firstly I never had an issue again and secondly because they are designed for corona (sigermaterials - corona material preset pro v2.0.2)

I think that the IES is the problem , when I turn them off (from the lightmix) the fireflies disappear , the project's room is small and the lights are few that's a problem too but unfortunately the project is like that ...

maybe I have to rise the quality or the samples of the light ? that;s why I am asking about the settings etc  ...

Please revert to defaults as I advised.

That could be an issue. You can try changing the IES profile, or using 3ds Max lights instead, as I suggested in previous message.

Older versions of Siger plugins used to cause identical issues (fireflies), so please go to that website and update them - there are actually newer versions than 2.0.2 there.

Are the fireflies visible only in the LightMix? If so, then maybe you are using too strong values? (check out the limitations at https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000017218)

Nope, that's not how it works in Corona. :)
