Title: CloseUp
Post by: lacilaci on 2012-10-26, 15:54:15
Some corona dof + one render with area lights in openings and one with sun and sky setup(testing different performances with different methods).

left overnight(10+hrs) 1080p (pt+HD, pt-64, HDRi only)

and a 4k one... internal res had to be at 1 cause it rendered 2 rays per every 10seconds or so... other settings were pretty much defaults

9+hrs BUT it was pretty ineffective in the second half of the rendering, in fact it was pretty close to this after 2 and half hours... Maybe because of the pt samples set to default 16 and using HDRi for lighting. I'm still experimenting with various settings...

Yeah, me too. Still more user-friendly than v-ray's DMC sampler settings.

But "deterministic Monte Carlo image sampler" sounds more badass. ;)

Vrays DMC is pretty powerful if you understood how it works. I love it and i hope Corona will become a bit more adaptive in the future.

Yup, it is powerful, but vray's interface makes it hard for a new user to understand.

Corona has "Sobol sequence low discrepancy scrambled 171-dimensional quasi-Monte Carlo image sampler", beat that!
