I would avoid using such low-res textures ;) It breaks realism too much. If the texture was good resolution, entire image would look a lot better ;)

what Rawalanche said. And if this old wall is this important you should actually model it to some extent.
Love your curtain though, looks really dynamic. Care s-to spill your beans about how you made it?

Smaller objects look ok (I bet they are downloaded ;) ). Your wall texture's resolution is too low and it needs some more maps like bump (or displacement), maybe some subtle reflectivity. If the wall is the main theme of your work, you should definitely make it more detailed or emphasized. The curtain also doesn't look very realistic. It looks like it's made of paper instead of fabric. I'd suggest using some more visible opacity map and playing with translucency until it looks satisfying. I also think using depth of field and motion blur could make this work look more convincing, like a shot from an old camera in low light, but I don't want to spoil your idea. :)

Anyway, it looks good for a starting point.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Really the wall texture was too low, I'll fix it.

The material of the curtain I tested several types of translucency (any suggestions?), Without much success, but keep testing.
