Greetings friends.
In Cinema 4D we can use videos as textures.
even in lighting textures.
For example:
I have a computer modeling, and on the screen I want to place a texture
make it a video
in animation the video runs and projects light
Can I do this with a corona?
-
Yes - create a CoronaLightMtl and load your video into its Texture slot, and apply it to the geometry (EDIT - e.g. in this case the geometry for your screen, but it can be any geometry; does have to be geometry though, you can't apply it to a CoronaLight object :) END EDIT). Ensure Emit Light is enabled. Note that it won't update in the Viewport when moving frames, nor if you move frames while Interactive Rendering is running, but it will update in the final render :)

Thank you

Sorry man, I'm trying but not loading the video,
can you pass screenshot to see what the process is like
Thank you

Sure. though it is as simple as it sounds :) If it wasn't working for you, what format was the video? I was using mp4. Not sure if something more exotic, like Quicktime, would work.
This is just a cube, a plane, the LightMtl applied to the cube, and frame 3574 selected (it's the Getting Started video for C4D, seemed like a good choice for a demo scene!)
If the object doesn't have to be a main light source, you can just use a regular CoronaMtl with a texture in the (Edit) Self Illumination (End Edit) slot, but since it sounded like you want this to be a significant light source in the scene, the LightMtl would be the way to go.

It looks like cinema no longer loads mp4 videos. I'll try with Quicktime
Many thanks for your help, my friend.

C4D can't load every type of video file that a usual video player can. Sometimes it's just a missing codec issue, though.
If you have made the source material yourself, you can use the uncompressed footage to reduce artifacts.

Curious, as mp4 worked for me (C4D R19). I wonder if it is a codec issue of some sort? Would be interested to hear your results with Quicktime and other video files / video formats.

Hello friends, the format that uploaded the video was .mov

Glad it worked! TY for confirming!
