Interesting! Is it Max or C4D, and is everything keyframed or is some sort of procedural magic going on there? :)

It's 3ds max. Only fire movement is keyframed. Material is procedural :)

Impressive!

If you made a decent burning fireplace asset I would buy it in a heartbeat.

maybe if the flame source would start closer to that trunk, as if coming from the log

The fire looks great, except the glowing of the wood itself. It is just illuminating and that is not real.
It needs a time to glow so heavy. Furthermore it appears and quickly disappears. Think about it.
