Title: Quick one - Corona Regions + DR - Supposed to be working?
Post by: alexyork on 2017-08-31, 12:22:45
I'm almost sure I read somewhere back with 1.6 release that in 1.6 DR is supposed to work within Corona Regions i.e. respect them and not render the whole image. Is this not the case in 1.6? Because it doesn't seem to be working here on this scene I'm rendering right now. The DR nodes are spitting out large strips of data back to the VFB that are running across the whole image.

We're on 1.6 Hf 1 here.

Cheers,

Hi,

The regions should work with DR if you set them up before the start of the render. Unfortunately the regions rendered by slaves do not change when you change the regions on master, or at least not immediately; it takes a while for the slaves to register the change.

Thanks for coming back to me.

Just to let you know that right now I'm rendering the same scene from fresh ONLY with a single max region (which touches 3 edges of the VFB) and I'm getting that "sampling mask compression failed: region is not strictly inside the bitmap" error. No coronaregions are in use. DR is in use. Right now the DR is again spitting out random strips of data across random parts of the image and is not respecting the max region OR the VFB itself.

So basically this error is not necessarily related to Corona Regions.

If the problem is still there, please try with Corona Renderer 1.7 Hotfix 1:
