Title: how to animate lightmix?
Post by: Christa Noel on 2017-08-30, 06:06:44
is it possible to animate lightmix direct from 3dsMax?
or, is there a way to batch edit the CIE and save to images sequence?

I think your second idea would be technically possible, but it should be much easier to just load the separate light select layers into some post production app and adjust them.

thanx maru, that's my current workflow :)
I hope there will be someone here would share his knowledge to create batch edit CIE :) :D
but curiously is there a possibility for devs to make lightmix animate lightmix in the future?

There is already a way to batch edit in CIE, however I am not sure how to "animate" a parameter with it. Check out this guide and especially the script at the very bottom: https://coronarenderer.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/12000030886

Hi, yes confirming - you can script CIE to do it. As maru has said, you can get inspiration from our batch editing script. Similarly, you can write a simple FOR loop to run CIE's command-line version with a different LightMix setup in each loop iteration.
