Title: 3ds max slow loading and save time
Post by: subpixelsk on 2017-08-07, 12:00:36
I have an interior scene of around 3,5 mil polys. How do I know if my file size and save/load times are ok?

I feel it takes a lot of time given it´s such small scene .

File size is 500mb, save and load time around 1 minute , ssd crucial m500

Notetracks cleaner etc. didn´t help at all

Would be grateful for any help

One idea is to save complex objects as proxies, if possible. This way you will end up with a much smaller file.

Have you tried merging the scene into a new file? Maybe there is some corrupt data in it.

Hi. To me a 1 minut loadtime for a file sized 500mb dosen't seem slow or too long. Actually I'm often having higher load/save times for such file size.

Make sure you have no file references that Max can't resolve (assets, textures, viewport background images etc.), these will add to I/O time.

thank you guys, I guess the only way now is to export everything possible to proxies
