Hi Everyone
I will post here my weekly tests for Corona Renderer
moslty quick small projects I do as RnD
Starting with this RnD that I did to test the sss effect inspired by Filip hodas work

Another test to see how much I can push the post processing tools in corona

inspired by Joesph bsharah work I did this quick sketch

Here is a quick time-lapse for the Lake sketch
I hope you find it useful:

This scene was originally created with another renderer and the rendering was so long, so I wanted to see how fast corona could be and yes it rendererd way faster !
the conversation wasn't accurate especially the leaves materials so I had to adjust it manually ..also we don't have yet corona bump material so I had to fix that too .

if you mean a map that converts anything into a usable bump map, then we have it already in the daily builds :)

No I meant something like this :
https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3MAX/Bump+Material+%7C+VRayBumpMtl
I use it when I have already created a materiel and just to add overall bump to it (round corner for example ) ..I could mix bump in a map level but sometimes material method is easier to control for me :))
I would like to see examples for the map u mentioned ..it seems very useful !

Hello. I like the first one, with blue glowing things. I have a question, how did you make a ground ? Looks pretty nice for me.
I have another question, about how are you made that deformations from penetrating walls objects (walls and floor deformations from green teapots and geospheres)
And thanks for a lake timelapse, I found it useful for me.

I had a charity work similar to this, myne didnt look this fresh tho.
Main object was apple instead of ufo. I somehow like your image more.
What is this floral set?

Thanks guys!
3dkid14:
The ground is simple plan that I added some deformation to it and Corona displacement ... for the material I used a texture from Vizpark grass collection it have some good ground textures with displacement maps.
For the ripple effect on the walls and ceiling I used "Ripple" modifier after subdividing the mesh of course..it is pretty simple modifier just don't forget to add some decay to it ...to have more control u can apply it it to a soft selection using edit poly modifier or even vol select modifier linked to the object and that what I did here but you can keep it simple if you want :))
Tanakov:
Thanks man . .I would like to see your render :))
For the flowers I did use again the Vizpark Grass collection ..it is great collection that I use all the time =D

Project file: https://goo.gl/hK6kd8 (56 KB)
Trying to push Twixtor to see how much I can slow dwon the animation without ruining it =D .
Ended by rendering 25 frames in Full HD 20 minute per frame that remapped into 250 frames using Twixtor .
DOF,MB , volumetric light ,sss, glare and bloom are from the renderer.. no faking tricks was used to speed up the rendering ;) .
a rendered frame in full res :

short timelapse for the process is here :

Thanks, I get it now. I've just reported it in the "which Vray feature would you like to have" thread.
As to the Corona Bump map, here is how it works: generally 3ds max interprets bump different than other RGB values. For example, if you use color correction node, or adjust RGB curves in the output rollout, it may often have no impact on the bump map whatsoever. This map basically takes any RGB input plugged into it, and makes it usable as a bump map. So thanks to it you can use color correction, adjust gamma, etc., and the changes will be correctly reflected in the bump appearance, just like you would expect when loading a bitmap as bump.

Looking nice feature and very similar to vraycolor2bump map I guess.. i hope it wouldn't affect rendertime tho
-
wooow ! super cool ! keep on
-
Thanks Rimah! Appreciate it :))
Here is new one ..it is inspired by DeadClown work =D
I might give it a second try later as I'm still not that happy with it yet .

Hello !
It's been a while since I've posted any work here so here we are !
When I don't have a commercial project to render at night, I send these small animations to render just to keep my PC warm 😄
In this one I'm testing Corona with animated lights/light mixer

A few months back there was a challenge to create a snow shader ..I was so busy that I couldn't participant but the idea was in my mind till today where i give it a try : ))
It's my first time using CoronaSkinMtl and I still need to dive more into it but for now i think it did the job nicely : ))
The snowball shader is fully procedural so no UV is required, but for the ground I added a bitmap to the mix to get extra details there .

WIP to show the progress of the material . (only the first one is Arnold )
