Chaos Corona for 3ds Max => [Max] I need help! => Topic started by: snakebox on 2017-06-29, 05:27:46

Hi everyone,
I just did a quick test using the corona hair mtl in 1.7 daily build, using a super basic and quick hair/fur setup using max's standard hair/fur (not Ornatrix) - but I noticed that it doesn't look like Motionblur is working?
It's enabled on camera and in corona render settings like usual.
So I just want to check if mblur is actually supported for standard hair/fur? or is it only ornatrix that is officially supported?
thanks

we currently do not support motion blur for any type of hair, but it is on our todo list

Did i miss something? i thought that hair material don't work with H&F. How did you rendered it?

I made a normal tepot, added max hair and fur (NOT in geometry mode), made a corona hairmtl, apply... and hit render! so to recap, its NOT rendered as geometry, but as max hair/fur.

Sorry, i misread first post. I thought that it's about hair material and H&F combo. My bad.

Hi.
I was just wondering if Corona now supports Motion Blur with 3DS Max Hair and Fur?
Thanks

Sorry, but it's still unsupported. We have it on our todo though.

is it much difference with adding fake mo blur in composing software? Motion blur is good for static rendering but in animation you barely see difference fake or real, imho

Yeah... is huge huge difference... I have Hair, wheels spin, high speed moviments, 4 character all with hair and fur... =\...
velocity map is possible option, but deninetly render motion blur is way better then post motionblur
I´m using aftereffects... maybe nuke can make a better job...
