Title: Material Override
Post by: kmwhitt on 2017-05-26, 01:01:34
I can't get it to work.  I am using 1.6RC2.  Is this a known problem with this version?  Perhaps I am doing something wrong...  I am using exclude with an interior scene.  In the exclude box are the glass materials and the Corona Sun and Sky.  I've even tried excluding the camera.  What am I missing?  Thanks, Kevin

It only works for me if I, additionally to ticking the checkbox, drag a material into the material slot next to it, preferably a neutral gray one.

Maybe that's it for you?

Hi Cinemike -  thanks for the response.  I am using a clay material with 70% brightness in the slot.  I still can't get it to work!

I tested in 1.6 RC3 (the latest official release) and in the latest daily build, and all worked as expected. Is there a particular reason for still working with the RC2 version? Could you test the RC3 or daily build with your scene to see if everything works as expected there? Thanks!

TomG - yes, I am in the middle of a project and was concerned by reports of slower speed on this forum.  That said, I'll give it a try.  Is there a place to download the older versions just in case?  Thanks.

In the Public folder you will find a6.2 if you need to reinstall it.
