Title: portal light issues with HDRI
Post by: kraphik3d on 2017-05-23, 17:26:01
Hi

I used portal light for first time but for some reason when I created it again it does not seem to function with HDRI.
As alone it works ok but with HDRI it is a bit of quesswork.

Can you explain what exactly you did? There is no such thing as "portal lights" in Corona.

Assuming he means portal material.

I think we all understood what he meant.  Are they even recommended when using HDRi's?  I know I have been told they are not recommended for use in Vray.

I still do not fully understand the issue.
The portals will work with any kind of background (be it Corona Sky, HDRI, solid color, etc), however with HDRIs with strong light source sometimes caution is required. Examples attached.

Hi! Can you maybe try to create a simple scene and post it here? We could then test it and see what is (or isn't) wrong there.

Hi guys. Thanks for replies. I guess I got it already fixed with latest update.

I just moved and have only Internet connection at my workplace
so cannot post personal corona project files atm.
See you later.
