Title: "Cut" the sun disk when it's horizontal.
Post by: cecofuli on 2017-03-21, 22:08:27
Hello,
as you can see in the picture, when the Sun is horizontal and the Sun disk is big, I would expect not a circular sun.
The horizon should "cut " the sun disk. Is it a stupid idea?

Not a stupid idea, as this also affects lighting. So either this (I don't think it's going to happen as it would require interfering with the sky model), or infinite ground plane please. :)

Hmm, i see a problem here. How sun can set behind something which is infinite? It simply will bounce back or will crash to smithereens ;]

I dont want to implement this because
1) it would make sun sampling slower
2) sun/sky just works as enviornment without occlusion, it is responsibility of user to add some ground ;)
