Hi guys,
Long time busy with commercial projects which sometimes can be tired and stress.
I guess it's time to share something more fun, a personal project that i've been doing for a few months, on and off and will be updated soon.
I was fascinated by the white neutral lighting that we often see in some Scandinavi interiors, especially after I looked at Alexander White website : http://alexanderwhite.se/
So I decided to recreate one space to test the lighting and achieve the look/feel of those beautiful interiors.
This project started when I was doing Coronator Course #02, the first intention was to do a project along with my students to inspire them to do their homeworks :) Modeling and populating assets took 1,5 days. Lighting and materials took 2 more days.
So here is the first set of renders. Most of them come straight out from CoronaVFB, which is amazing to me at that time.

Oh, I love Corona so much

Love the 2 and 3rd image. Very nice light and contrast in those images. Although i dont like that you are a little bit sloppy . Blanket in the sofa, some mapping issues and carpet doesnt look good . If you had put a little more time and effort this could have been really really nice.

Hi Aldola, I often set contrast at 2-3, hilight compress about 3
The importatant thing is I play with filmic hilight and filmic shadow,
I found that with a proper value, they create very realistic look and feel to the images.
( I often start with 1 and lower them gradually )
Hope that helps :)

Just few probably useless thoughts from me. There is nothing special in "northern neutral lighting" isn't it?. This white neutral lighting scenario you mentioned is mostly mixture of recognizable scandinavian interior design and lot of image editing done by photographers. You would be surprised how much time they spend inside "digital lightroom" and PS, and the results? Sometimes i say "damn" is this the same photo?
But back to your wonderfull images.... great work, love it. :)

Very nice, but I think, the contrast is too high.
The white areas the window are too light and in the dark areas you can not see details. This I see very often in Corona renderings. More than in Vray.

Hey these are really beautiful pictures :) I especially love the first and second one - the first one, damn, such a beautiful lighting! Will point to you people asking for training since now haha!

How did you light the scene ?
Did you use a HDRI or standard corona lights ?
