Title: refraction material?
Post by: STRAT on 2017-02-28, 13:47:55
Hi guys

very new to corona in c4d.

finding it impossible to create a simple refraction material/object like the water in this image.  please can you advise?  thank you

thanks guys, solved it with help from a colleague and playing around.

it's hard going without documentation.  does any exist for this type of thing?

Can't be more simple - set diffuse to 0, reflection to 1, refraction - 1, IOR - 1.333 That's it, now you have basic water material :]

Also remember about properly overlapping faces! :)

mmmmhhhh maybe I lost something ... how can I set refrection to -1 ? And what does it mean diffuse to 0 ?

Reflection = 1
Refraction = 1
Reflection IOR = default
Refraction IOR = 1,33 for water, 1,5-1,6 for glass

Diffuse 0 means diffuse level 0, or diffuse color pure black. We just don't want diffuse at all.

It's not -1, it's - 1 Big difference :]

thanks everyone.

i'm a vray vet converting to corona, but for some reason found this one a tad confusing :P
