Title: Corona materials don't show in viewport - Max 2017 (solved, but posted anyway)
Post by: mommus on 2017-02-21, 17:33:54
This is one of many issues I have with Max 2017, but I was wondering whether anyone else has had this problem.

Corona materials (textures, checker etc) show up correctly in material editor, but once applied to an object just look black in the viewport. If I turn 'show shaded...' on and off, the object has shading visible when texture is turned off, but is flat black on all sides when it's turned on.

I'm currently running Nitrous 11....

...just tried Nitrous 9 and all seems well again. I don't think Corona likes Nitrous 11

I don't have that issue on Max 2017 and Nitrous 11.

I have pretty similar problem. When I turn "show shaded..." on and after that change viewport mode to "Facets" or "Default Shading" object disappear... And it changes over time. Sometimes it work on "Facets" and another on "Default Shading". I must say that's quite annoying because I need to constantly switch between those 2 modes. Have anyone some similar problem?

I'm talking about Max 2017

Does this happen only with CoronaMtls?

There are lots of threads about 2017 display problems on Adesk's AREA, head over to find a thread discussing similar problems and make sure to post what you see, it's the only way to make sure they're aware how many users are affected. That and submitting a bug report ;)

Try to change '1 Default Light' to "2 Default Lights"
