What can be the cause of these shadows on the hand?

It's the infamous shadow terminator 'bug', there are many threads about this here. Do a search here, you'll find them.
The only solution as of now is to make the mesh dense enough for it do disappear. It's scheduled to be fixed in the upcoming 1.6 release, hopefully.
