Title: Huge render size
Post by: Majeranek on 2016-12-23, 10:08:14
Guys, I have a problem with rendering size. I need to render that "panorama" in 45000x5000px resolution. Is there any way/script to render this in pieces?

Do you realy need this kind of huge resolution?
If so, you can make use of the "split Scan Lines" option in Backburner.

Unfortunately it has to be in that resolution :/ Client requested rendering in 72 dpi. It is going to be some fence or something similar.

Hmmm..... 5000px at 72dpi means that the fence must be 125,17meters high. Are you sure about this?

How are you calculating this? When I'm checking this in Photoshop it says that 5000px in 72dpi is around 1,8m.

Yes, you're right. I edited my post just as you replied. My mistake :)

I think that the problem is still with setting up the longer edge output value. It's limited to around 32 000px in 3ds max.
Do you think that there is any script which could slice that view with cameras or something? Or any other way?

Scripspot likely has a script to help render at this res but if not you can easily render smaller horizontal segments using a horizontal offset in the camera settings and then reassemble in post.
