Title: [solved] Does a glass material in corona behave like physical glass?
Post by: Jpjapers on 2016-12-09, 09:32:17
Someone on Max Forums posted a question about simulating lightguides (solid glass to change the direction of a beam of light)
I thought it sounded like something corona might be capable of after remembering the thread from a while back where someone had built actual lenses that worked infront of the max camera and i thought id give it a go. However i tried this and the light (rectangle light with directionality set to 1 and tried with 0) just disappears and doesnt shine out of the other side of the glass. is there anything i need to do to get it to work properly? Caustics are enabled but the light intensity through a solid block of glass is basically 0.

Thanks
Jack

EDIT: Sorry I should have put this in the help forums.Ive attached an image from the vfb. The black dot on one side of the block is a light set to the highest possible intensity of 999999 and as you can see nothing is coming through the other side.

Hmmmmm. Have you done anything special with your setup? and does it work with a rectangular light?
