Ok so since this evolved a bit after my first post in WIP section, I'll just keep adding more stuff here and call them finished works :)

Leaves should be one sided in order for translucency to work correctly. And loss of contrast in the shadows is usually consequence of increased translucency, as more light goes through. In this case, i guess leaves could be slightly more reflective as well as slightly more translucent. Also, entire image is a bit over-contrasted, which hurts realism a lot. Range between shadows and midtones looks somewhat unnatural.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yeah that's kind of what I said :D

Now that you mentioned it reflectance is one issue here. I guess I should use a HDRI because my Corona Sun has Visible in reflections unticked. You do have a point about the contrast too. Thanks!

Sorry i don't know how to help you but i must say I'm so glad to see more exterior work done with Corona amongst the sea of interior renders. Please do more this looks really good

Had difficulties fitting this scene in 24Gb RAM, not 100% satisfied but had limited time and now I know I need to upgrade my hardware :)

Thanks! I know these aren't the best renders but I'm having fun, especially with the foliage, I never could get it right in Vray2sidedmtl :)

Just attach an image file to your topic ;)
-
The grass on the second renders is a plane with opacity? or doy you scatter real grass on the entire terrain?

Thanks I'll try that once I get some sleep first :)

Wow what did you scatter with and what is this scene's poly count?

Thanks, I use Itoo Forestpack. The poly count is quite high. Sorry, I forgot this thread, I'll reply better tomorrow once I get my morning coffee :)

That aerial country shot is awesome, do share, some info on it. I think the light glows are PS, but the trees are great.
-
Those are really good and the mood is just fantastic! Keep ´em coming :-)

Thanks, and yes I agree the glow is pretty awful.. I was in a hurry and this was one of my first bigger projects with Corona.
All in all there's about 30 million polies before scattering, most of which are different kinds of trees and bushes. Most are my own GrowFX made models, the fir trees are iCube. Now that I have more efficient machine and more experience in Corona I'm gonna revisit this scene sometime this spring.
Thanks for your kind words everyone :)

A quick test. Thanks Juraj for the patio furniture!

Wow! what amount of Plants! forest looks so real! Amazing and great view.
Maybe DOF on front is too big for me.
-
Great greens, I am trying one atm, and it seems a variety equals a better idea of realism, even if the greens are not super high poly.
-
Thanks guys!
The DOF is too strong, yes :)
Dervish: Yes, have variety, but as a starting point it's good to have one constant green color in both diffuse and translucency and once you are happy with what you see start the variation from there :)

Does Corona Have SUB SURFACE SCATTERING (SSS)?
-
Not yet.

Not yet.

Good Work
-
i agree... a lot of work has been done here. fantastic for me. keep it up
-
Thats some very good looking work, You are mastering sun+vegetation really well. Whats you material set up for your vegetation? you mentioned sss?
-
Thanks! AnubisMe, I mentioned SSS in the topic but that was a mistake in my part - it's just one sided translucency with a value of about 0,3 for every plant. I've changed the topic to avoid further confusion :)
-
awesome work, keep it up. They look like quick concepts, which I find interesting.

Lol good point. I guess they're future curtains that don't need anything to hold them in place :D

You really know how to make an awesome nature on exterior shots .
There are some amazing renders here and I would like to see some tutorials and "making of" discussions if possible :)
Keep up the great work.
-
Thanks! I could make some pointers about the nature part once I get some spare time.
Some recent stuff!

Wow, last two renders are stunning! Nice mood
-
Great renders, the chromatic aberration on the last one is a bit strong on the right side, especially when viewed upclose but looks really photoreal overall!
Did you make CA effect in photoshop, or is it rendered in?
-
Wohoo some really great work going on here.
I love how precisely renderings look - do you mind sharing workflow? I mean, contrast or any post pro applied?
I think renderings are very very well balanced in terms of shadows / highlights, they are looking very punchy and precise.
Interiors and exteriors both are awesome, keep up great work :)

Tables on last 2 images are hovering ? :P
-
Thanks ppl!
artmaknev: CA is a bit much sometimes, I agree. I only always notice it afterwards :) and yes it's Photoshop.
JakubCech: Thanks! Not much to say about the workflow, I try to keep things simple and figure out a way to make things look nice (to my eyes, at least) at the same time. About post processing, I usually do some curve corrections to get the medium areas brighter, glow effects etc. I also sometimes use the abomination that is Ambient Occlusion :) Just mask in some areas that seem to benefit from it. For instance, if I can't avoid burning out some brighter parts a slight AO can bring back some detail :) Also play around with bright versus dark area color tint with curves or other tools.
michaltimko: F¤%K!! how'd I miss that :D

A couple recent ones, the signs are ugly but I had no control over the matter :)

hah.. a slight chance that's where it resides, although lacking a few changes :)

After a long while here´s one I have permission to post, a kind of a beach house in Finland :)

Nice! Is sea composed in or not?
-
thx :) Sea is displaced plane.
-
Congrats, I was sure the whole background is a photo.
-
Really nice image! Just, the top of the right tree is cut ;)
-
Very good all, but last one is awesome!! Good work. Sea and sand are perfect!!
-
Thanks guys!
Really nice image! Just, the top of the right tree is cut ;)
Oh damn, how did I manage to do that and not even notice it - the original was 8000px wide so this should have been an easy thing to spot :O Damn..
-
That last one is fantastic. Can you share where you got those whispy grasses from? Or are they custom? Great job on the wood slats as well.
-

Thank you! The grasses are custom made with Grow FX :)

Nothing special but gotta keep the thread going I guess.. so a couple renders more. Quality variation is noticeable but hey deadlines are deadlines. I left the worst ones out

And a few more, this time hyperlinked so no thumbnails.
