Title: Voyager
Post by: GranDosicua on 2016-12-02, 12:47:50
I see that most users (me among them) use Corona for automotive or architecture projects, so I would like to share a character scene to show the power of the engine in a different environment.
This was my entry for the Humster3D "Explorer of New Worlds" Challenge, which was awarded with the first place a few months ago. I also want to take the opportunity to thank the Corona Team for such a good prize, as it has become my primary render engine.

Hope you like it!

I take it that the voyage was unsuccessful. :D

Really great work. I like the dynamics of the shot. I can feel the motion despite it being a still image :)

Depends... it could be Trumps first "space mission" :)

Great job! Really like the colors and contrast!

Cool! That must need a lot of works and creativity.
Congrats for the first place awards :)

Hey, I remember seeing your work on the competition page!

As Rawalanche said:

The guy's stretched arm worked out really great - I can almost see him grabbing me from the monitor. Creepy stuff!

Poor fella, but shouldn't he preserve a little bit better in space? Even if we assume that there wasn't a breach and pressure was kept at normal level?

Anyway impressive work and great deal of details. Definitely a worthy winner.

Obviously space parasites ate the flesh.

Lovely!
As soon as i saw the image, i heard a sound... radio playing in background... it really feels as it's been there since the late 80s
:D

One thing tho, coagulated blood is not transparent and much, much darker. Now it looks like some kind of strawberry syrup. Too sweet ;)
Yeah, meat would get dried and dark... would be well preserved & nice for a snack, like a beef jerky. lol

Thanks for the trip.

Yes, if the corpse were decayed... but what if the flesh is gone for some other reason? Something related with the hole in the head, maybe? Or maybe not? I think that was the point, there wasn't a straight explanation of the scene and people can draw their own conclusions.

Yes, I remember myself thinking the same when doing that... realism or impact? I chose second, as I wanted the scene to be as creepy and unsettling as possible... artistic license! ;)

Fantastic render, with great DOF and materials. Maybe this is one of Janeway's crew?

Great & to the point. Strangely enough some of us do feel quite violently happy looking at such artistic expressions. :D
Thanks.

PS... at first glimpse i also thought it was walkman & headphones cable floating... right in my face (that's where music came from)

Now, feels strange. Insides seem to old as abandoned, dirty, decaying (?) while the occupant has been freshly stripped, snatched... oh, another memory flipped to mind - Lifeforce (1985) (https://youtu.be/m-7pA5GtQ-k) mixed with a sort of alien & zombie... :D could make the whole story out of this scene.

"What is it?"

Great, FK yeah!
