Title: Seeing triangle shadows on meshes in rendering
Post by: zbieraj on 2016-10-25, 18:40:19
Hi, I have a problem that I see triangle meshes in rendering on the surface of my material. What to do? I'm attaching image of the problem.

smooth modifier? If it's planar thing

I put smooth modifier to the geometry - nothing has changed...

If these faces really are planar you can get rid of smoothing group on planar faces alltogether, smooth shouldn't change anything.
Other than that, you could try the Turn Edges command from the ePoly command panel to avoid elongated edges from internal triangulation. You should be able to get rid of these artifacts on perfectly planar faces without problems.

And how to do it? I can't find those options in C4D.

If you are talking about "Spin Edge" - it is disabled after selecting the meshes.

Oh sorry, I didn't realize this was for C4D, I assumed this was for Max. Sorry.

Okay, I solved it (as I see now) with untriangulating the mesh few times :).

Looks like a problem with your normals. What does your mesh look like? Guess you could get away with setting the phong angle to something like 22.
I doubt this is Corona related.
