Title: Mercedes-Benz - CGI Study
Post by: leocv on 2016-09-16, 17:04:25
Hi everyone!

I am sharing my recent study with Corona Renderer.
This are some studio shots renderings, something different from my usual work with interiors and exteriors  with Corona.
Software: Modo - 3dsmax - HDR Light Studio - Corona Renderer
Hope you like it.
C&C are very welcome. :)

Cheers,
Leo.

They are super good, but my observation would be that many commercial car renders we see are much more contrasty, shiny, and the cars "jump" out of the image, while the renders presented in this thread are rather "peaceful". Obviously this is a matter of taste, planned objectives, and requirements.

Thanks everyone!

maru - Glad you liked it. Thanks for the good tips maru,  I will definitely put these tips in my next project.
Next time I will try to build a better enviroment for showing this car.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Leo.

Very nice and detailed model...yes, maru is right...i use car renders to practice alot...for years i have always pondered how to achieve that contrasty, crisp look right in the 3d apps...even had to learn lots of render engines, but it was only recently i found out that they do heavy post work on the "perfect" 3d export...eg-camera raw or hdr toning in photoshop, these filters work magic on "hdri" files...well...nice job again

BishopDesigns - Great feedback, thanks!
I think you are right, the secret relies in the awesome post work, which I have to study more. Of course a good raw image helps a lot. So in my case I still have some work to do with this model. :)
Thanks!

All the best,
Leo.

When I have to model the car, which is not the case with this car, I usually google it.
But as Tomasz Rozkos said, a good camera photo angle is the best thing to help you to model a car, as blueprint for cars are often not that accurate.

Leo.

Find good blueprints for a specific model is always difficult.
Looking for that angle, his approach in modeling a car is very good.

All the best,
Leo.
