Hi all,
I'm trying to make an endless ocean, i got the displacement map but I am using it on a plane (using the render multiplier option) so I cannot create "thickness" to it, there is no depth in the object so of course the absorbtion parameter is not working . Is there anyway to trick Corona into thinking that the plane would be infinite in depth (height) ?
Thanks!

AFAIK Corona does not require closed meshes to calculate absorbtion depth. Just give it some geometry for ray to hit and everything should be fine. Put simple plane beneath water surface to simulate ocean floor and Corona will do the rest.

This. The only problem might be light coming through the gap. I would recommend something like in the attached pic. Obviously the edges of the cylinder mus be sticking out of the water just slightly so that it's not visible. It is also good to use circle for the water since it produces better horizon illusion.

Hey guys,
Sorry for late reply, I was super hooked up with the project. Thank you for the suggestions, they work. It does need something underneath though, otherwise it can't calculate the depth, but it doesn't need a full cube so to say.
Thanks again!

Technically, only two planes are enough, yes, but then nothing will stop light to get underneath water surface from unclosed sides and that may skew otherwise realistic results.
