Title: Crop & Region render + rendering time bug

Hello, same problem here, with A5 31 May ( cause Asset traking and Proxy bug in the OFFICIAL A5)
This problem is random. When I render a crop, sometimes is fast, sometimes is slow.
In this test, from the first to the second render, I just check/un-check the emitter toggle in the shader and click render. No change or modification in the rendering settings, or inside the files etc...
I can see when I have this problem, cause the "Precomputing Secondary GI" is veeeery slooow for a small crop render. Next, the refinement will be slow too.

If I cannot solve this problem, I save the file as it is,  (no close max) and reopen the file again.

Mmm... more strange.
In my scene I've an animated camera. Last night I tried to render some frame.
Frame 0000 = 0k
Frame 0001 = ??? O__O  10 passes in 2 hours?
Frame 0002 = Ok
Frame 0003 = Ok
Frame 0004 =  ??? O__O Again, the same bug.

My guess is it's HD cache related.

Yes, it's very annoying. It's impossible to work!!! Ondra told me that the problem could be in some shaders (textures). But this is not true.
with Ovverride (150 150 150) I had the same problem...
I have to "find" the bug, but it's difficult, cause it 's random. for example, sometimes, only by moving, in the viewport, the "region" rectangle, the speed come back good =(

Does this happen with the default VFB?
Does this happen when HD cache is disabled (for example when rendering in pt+pt)?

I think it's geometry related but. But its difficult to understand why it's happen, cause it's so random. If I hide a layer, the speed is good. I unhide and it's slow.
I close max and re-open the file (with the layer un-hide) and the speed is good! Headache!

Does it also happen when you are not region-rendering, just the whole image?

Yes, as in my previous message/image: 2 hour and only 10 passes in 1080p

EDIT. in this file I used a lot quadchanfer modifier. BTW, I want to collapse my geometry to a simple edit poly.

Situation: PT+HD = slow. Next, I only change in PT+PT = no problem (obviously)- Return again PT+HD = slow
With no VFB or default, same problem.

After to convert everything in mesh ( I lose all istances, quadchamfer plug etc...) no bug. The HD is fast now.  I upload the file to Ondra. We will see where is the "bug".
