Title: Loft Home
Post by: bdazo on 2016-07-20, 21:24:45
Hey guys,

I've recentely tried Corona again and it has been a lot of fun.

I would like to share my Loft Home with you, any feedback is greatly appreciated as well.

I rendered in 4000X4000 pixels with a noise level limit of 10% (which it came to 2:30 hours of render). Added an extra beauty pass of 0.8 denoiser and layered the two passes in photoshop with 70% opacity and really liked the result. Added some more PS adjustments here and there and background.

Better resolution here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/683979/MainLoftRender_Final_High.PNG
cheers,

That's really nice looking!

My only complains:
-vegetation could use some more modeling and shading work:
-bump on the brick wall is too fine - there should be more bigger features visible, and probably displacement would work best
-the places where the wooden beams meet with the brick wall look wrong
-seams/overlapping visible on the bricks
-the top-right wood material looks wrong, I would guess that bump is too strong, and it's too reflective

Thanks Maru, appreciate the critique.

I def. Agree with them. Going to try to get back and fix it.

Beautiful work! I love the small touches of Lego men and the Vader mug!

One small critique would be the UVMapping on the sliding door, the vertical wood slats seem to have the grain going the wrong direction (rotate 90°)

Thanks Matthews, I only saw that after it was all rendered, I will fix it, it's on my list.

The scene initially was meant to have more toys around, but I felt it was going to get too crowded.. but the legos stayed lol.

The Vader Mug will have a close up render, will post soon.

A night version is coming as well, after I address some of the critiques I got, like displacing the bricks and working more on the wood materials.

Yes, it is really nice work. Just 1 thing: the UVW on the inner planks in the bookshelf should also be turned 90*

Keep it up :)
