Hi all,
I am wondering why a glass material when caustics are turned on doesn't work as it should.
It seems like having a solid wall...
I tried PT+UHD / PT+PT with MSI 100/200/500/1000 and the result is always the same.
Thanks,

Did you try MSI 0 also ?
-
Yes, result is the same...

I get better results using corona lights - the corona sun seems to produce the effect seen in your image.
-
Yes, I confirm this! Corona lights work better with this situation.

.... but only if Directionality isn't set to 1. If it is set to 1, the result is the same as with the Sun. So there seems to be a bug with directional light + caustic. Or is this expected behavior?

With MSI= 0, you should have a real caustics (with Caustics = on) . But, Corona Progressive mode isn't able to solve this situation.
It's not a bug, it's a limitation. Unfortunately, Corona isn't able to produce caustics with Progressive
Try to use VCM, but it doesn't support tons of Corona's tools. It's like an "experiment", right now.
Ondra promised us to improve Caustics in Progressive mode. but we don't know when =)

no bug, it is just limitation of unidirectional path tracing algorithms

Thank you all for your answers.
I knew about this limitation but didn't thought was so "strong".
Anyway, i am sure in the near future the Corona team will find some workarounds!
Thanks again,
