Title: Workstation for CG Advice

Hi all,

I am very new to PC workstation, having been using Macs exclusively, I decided to go after value for money and build a workstation (first timer!). I have spent quite a bit of time trying to read up on different components and putting together a PC that is optimised for both CPU and GPU intensive tasks. This is all a little overwhelming so your help would be greatly appreciated.

I will mainly be using it for 3D modelling (Maya, Zbrush, Modo, C4D), rendering (Corona, Octane, Keyshot) and digital painting in Photoshop with the occasional editing in Premiere .

After extensive period of procrastinating by looking up reviews for various parts, I have come up with the following list:

- The 1070 is a placeholder. My budget is £3000 and I will save whats left of it for 2x 1080ti whenever they are out, is that sensible?

- I chose the 5960x over the 6900k as I will be overclocking and the new octa core does not seem to overclock as well as its predecessor, any opinions?

- Is the motherboard a good choice? At this stage I do not know if I will go more than 2x gpus so the Deluxe II gives the option of adding a 3rd one at some point. It also has Wifi which would save me drilling through my house (or a PCIe slot). And is the most popular model so (hopefully) many of the bugs are ironed out. I was thinking of the E-WS but could not justify the cost.

Hi. I am in the same situation about the procesors

5960X or 6900K?

Anybody can help me with this decision?
