Hi guys!
In the link below you can find a short tutorial on how you can use Facebooks new 360 feature for CGI panoramas, very cool trick.

And this is how it will look like if it works for you(it's a Corona render so hope it'll be all good for this forum ;) )

I tried using one of my PANOs that work in the Gear VR and Cardboard. I can't get it to work at all for Facebook.

It works, just make sure that you edit xmp data of your panorama properly. Either do this by pasting your pano into another one that works, like in that tutorial or use app that can add needed data for you. Like this one for Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hirota41.photospheretagger&hl=lt
But FB pano player is very limited, no controls whatsoever :[

Maybe it's obvious for most, but I discovered this just some time ago - when you see a 360 pano on FB on your PC monitor, click on it, and make it fullscreen. This takes the whole experience to a new level. :)
-
Well, it wasnt obvious for me, thanks for hint :]

Yup, hit F and it's much better....until you notice FB downsizes and compresses the hell out of the image. (it looks like 4096px to me, and I uploaded 12 288px :/ (true "4k" 360 )
Would be cool if we could embed some panos on this forum too :- ).
My first FB attempt {link}

Ohh right completely forgot about xmp data. Working now, phone has a bit of an issue with orientation, but tapping the button that shows its a 360 photo corrects it.

It looks a bit better if you unzoom with mouse scroll, but still far from perfect.

Hello everybody! I can not upload the panorama on facebook why the site does not recognize it. I do everything as a tutorial. Attach panorama, can anyone see what the problem is. Thank you in advance!
-
This is because your pano does not contains XMP data that facebook needs. I tried to paste your pano into image that works and resave it with photoshop, but it looks like PS just overrides XMP with hes own data. What works for me, is to add needed XMP data with small android app called photosphere XMP tagger (one click solution), or to use exifTool with exifToolGUI and copy paste XMP from donor photo (unintuitive and cumbersome to use, but very powerfull).
p.s. your pano should be 2:1 aspect ratio, i.e. 4000x2000 px

Just call in your image properties -details the camera maker and model to a 360 standard, then it works. For example Camera maker RHICO and model RHICO THETA S

Thank you guys for your support!!! Mission complete)))

Brilliant - though the waste in the bathtub and the bathroom curtains are missing! Someone may be peeping with a telescope across the windows

Hi everyone. It's great to know how to upload a CGI 360 panorama to FB.
Could you please direct me to a tutorial of how to set up a 360 camera in 3ds Max to render in Corona?
The Panorama Exporter utility crashes Max went Corona is assigned as the renderer.

It's relly easy to render spherical panorama in Corona:
- add camera in middle of your scene
- uncheck targeted in camera's properties
- Set rotation transforms as follows: X - 90, Y - 0, Z - whatever suits you
- add CoronaCameraMod modifier to that camera
- in projection type rollout, check override and make sure that projection is set to spherical
- In render setup>common tab set aspect ratio to 2 and lock it
And that's it, you're now ready to render spherical panorama and to post it on FB or wherever you want.
