Title: BUG REPEATABLE: custom object in the MEdit.
Post by: cecofuli on 2016-06-10, 17:50:18
I remember that I was able, in the old alpha, to load a simple geometry as a 3D model for the Material Editor shape.
But, with the new v1.4, I cannot and, when I try to do it, 3ds Max becomes "strange" and I must to close it and reopen again.
With Scanline and VRay I can load a simple pyramid, without problem.
Is it a bug?

I can confirm that it's random.
For example, it work when I start with Scanline, load the mesh (cone), change the model with the button in the MEdit.
Then, I change to Corona and I can see the cone in the MEdit.
Now, if I try to change again (a lot of times) the model, Corona can become crazy and I need to restart.

It's just a side not, if it can happen again to somebody.

Ok, I found the bug (repeatable)

(1) Load a mesh (Cone.max) as a custom preview.
(2) Click the button on the material editor. So, you can see the Cone in the MEdit.
(3) Delete the file Cone.max
(4) Reset 3ds max
(5) Open again the MEdit and choose a Custom preview
(6) You will see "File open filed"
(7)  Not, 3ds Max becomes "strange". you cannot navigate in viewport and you must to restart 3ds Max.

with Scanline everything is ok.
