Amazing quality! You achieved the difficult effect of rendering gold and shiny surfaces as something elegant and stylish instead of something cheap and plastic.
Now give us the settings! :)
One more thing: was it originally so smooth or there is some noise reduction involved?
-
Thank, but the settings are very simple. What do you want to know?
The raw version is 90% good for my taste. Just a PS level, little S-curve, color balance and smaaaal noise reduction (10%)
1920x1200 all the night. I don't know when the quality was good enough...
The web version is 1400px.

Great work & beautyful result!
-
Thank you Polymax =)
-
very nice.. the materials are great, they seem to be jumping off the screen \m/
-
Extraordinary! Maybe a little to perfect to be real ;-) The only thing that does not look that perfect is the carpet, which looks kinda artificial, compared to the rest. And adding a dust&scratch-map to the floor would bring the last bit of realism.
Besides that, great work!
-
About carpet, you are right. Also for the floor ;)
-
Very nice!
Can you say something to your used render settings:
-number of passes
-number of path tracing samples
-light samples multiplier & texture resolution
-use of image filter
-standard noise reduction in photoshop
-hd cache precomp density & pt samples
-time to render one frame at 1920px
Thanks.

-number of passes : I don't know =)
-number of path tracing samples : 8
-light samples multiplier & texture resolution : default
-use of image filter : default
-standard noise reduction in photoshop : I don't remember. Just tweak and see if everything was good for me.
-hd cache precomp density & pt samples : default
-time to render one frame at 1920px : as I wrote, all night.
-
nice stylish room. and tell me about the carpet trick. look like hair effect
-
ottimo lavoro Francesco! How about gold material parameters? I have try but the result is not good
-
Unbelievable! Awesome! We all crave to learn how to make gold! ))
-
If this is boring bathroom, then i on't know what bathroom should be unboring!)))))
Very good vis and design!
-
Hallo Francesco
curiosity!
The same scene/setting, vray how many hours it would take to reach this level?
Great job

I... I don't know ;-) but I'm afraid about sub-pixel mapping on glasses lamp!!! I had bad experience with strong reflections and glass lamps!
BTW, this thread is old. Better this version
