Not exactly the same, but pretty similar task I have in recent renders.

See the image with attached material setup. Sorry, but can not share textures itself. Also adding you the result to see if its what you are lookin for.

Actually, you control 4 different colors which creates an effect of velvet. For your reference image you might need displace :)

EDIT: if anyone has comments for my setup, I would gladly appreciate, since project hasn't finished yet.

I tried recreating this velvet-looking carpet, but wasn't satisfied with the results. Looks like it's a big challenge!
Maybe you will find this towel idea helpful: https://forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php/topic,11204.msg71834.html#msg71834

Hej Image Box Studio,

pls see the attached image.
This project lies back a little time..
so I have to take a look at the material to be able to explain.

I think it could also be used for animations.
(Works with 2 opposed falloff maps, blended with some blotchy map).

I will post an explanation later on.

Sorry for my bad english :)

best regards
Nico

Hej Image Box Studio,

please find attached the material setup.
I hope it´s enough to understand.

The most important thing is the blend texture and the micro bump for the fuzzyness.

If you go through every step you will find out how it works.
Instance the colors and you will be happy.

Hope it helps and all the best to you.
Nico

Hi 3D Architect.
Thank you very much for your fast reply. I tried your setup but did not get exact effect as i needed. Maybe i don't have right texture maps.

Hej Image Box Studio,

You received a PM.

CG Architect uses almost the same setup.
Just a little different.

Dont let this material fall after the project.
It´s even a charme on pillows or something similar.
Put it to your library :)

best regards
Nico

Nice to see the same subject what they are doing for yourself, I'm very curious :) Although I do half the secondary and you from what I see from the Madison ave.
You design? or just you are doing graphic design.?
Good luck.

The material of the carpet, I tested strongly with mixing layer with additional settings falloff.

NicoB showed a very good example, I walked the same path ..

Just graphic design. Rendering more than 50 images. Those are more for progress, designers want to see different options. :)
