Tried clicking the "learn more" button? ;)
And foreseeing the next question: yes, disabling FTH completely is perfectly safe.

At this point I am seriously thinking about just opening the link automatically when it pops out, because people seem to be unable to click on it on their own :D

There is some truth to that. Users should not concern themselves with debug functions interacting with the application.
There is no reason for FTH to interact with max and corona. Since the Corona installer is elevated, why not just add the exclude string in the registry automatically?
Alternatively as a "Disable FTH for 3dsMax (only uncheck if you know what you are doing)" Checkbox.

because we dont want to mess with the system without knowledge of the user. I remember people were flipping out just because Corona was automatically changing 3dsmax priority to low, and we had to remove that (and then came the long string of "chrome is freezing" bugreports).

also remember that Corona is not a standalone application, it is a plugin. We would have to change behavior of a completely different program that we do not develop...

Really sad story...

About backup, I use Auto-save script. Maybe in future it will be useful for you if you are going to try daily builds. Actually I would suggest to use this script to everyone who is going to try them. I wrote about this script in [Useful Scripts\Tools] category some time ago

Auto-save

Script which allows to have auto backup history for each opened file separately - you can have backups of a file even if you didn't work with it one year or more (if you didn't deletу it's history of course) . One more good thing - it saves backup files very fast (native autosave process in Max 2014 takes sooo much time!)

what does it do different from max auto backup? its very strange i have set my max to 10 backups and all seemed to be corrupt, no matter what i tried as max forums suggest

This script stores backups for different files in different folders. This is how  my .../autoback folder looks - each folder is the history for each file I was working with. You can set up amount of backup files you want to have in history of your files and time interval between autosavings. So, if you work with one file, Max will not overwrite the history of another file.

but isn't this the way max works currently?

I use Max 2014. It has autoback folder where it stores some amount of backup files AutoBackup0x.max (you can choose in references amount of them). Max resave them one by one, for Max it doesn't matter do you work with one file or with another, it will just resave file with next number in a name of it. If you work with first file, and after that with second for some time, Max step by step will replace backups of the first file with buckups of second one.

I don't know about autosave in newer versions of Max...

i mean then you have errors in app you can check it there, maybe will be some clues what happening then you render and have that massages popup, on the left go to application logs and check, also maybe system errors check it too by time stamp. FTH log there too

think i found a fix, when i installed RP manager and restarted max, it said heap tolerance increased, please restart max to fix the error or something similar, and now i dont have the error popping up!
