Hello everyone, it's me again! :)
We just had a weird problem working on a project here. We had a scene all prepped up ready to be rendered the next day. So, the next day came, we started rendering and we noticed all of the bump on more or less all of the objects was way out of control.
After some troubleshooting we found out that all of the bump values got randomized (some values even reached 99,0).
Now, we did have two users access the same file but that was the day before we made the last preview which looked just fine. The only known changes that happened afterwards were that we moved some objects around.
I am unsure if it is a 3ds Max thing or Corona so I didn't post this into the bug report section. If it is a bug then I'd kindly like to ask a moderator to move it.
Any ideas?

Have you changed Corona versions between those two renderings? Or maybe you installed some plugins, scripts? Could it be that your bump values get animated somehow?
-
My first thought: maybe installed older version, then newer, then older again?
-
The guys are using the demo version for this project to see how it works but as far as I know both use the same version - 1.3. So I guess that shouldn't be a problem.
Plugins, scripts, I got pretty much assured nobody installed anything new in the last couple of days.
Its funny and not at all cool hah!

But there must be some specific reason in your side about something software related, otherwise the problem would occur for lots of people, i mean occasionally.. weird really.

we moved some objects around
But you didn't move them like 1000km from the origin?
Were these bump maps or normal maps? (simply bitmap/procedural map plugged into bump slot, or corona normal map?)

@selant
I catch you drift, I really do. Since both are using the Corona demo version they downloaded in 2016 they should both be on 1.3 so I didn't bother checking that one honestly.
@maru
No, the objects mere moved a few meters a best.
And those were bump maps and normal maps. The normal maps were initially mistakenly put into the bump slot without the CoronaNormal map. After the error was discovered we redid those materials that reported errors.
What I was told happened was the we did a preview render which was fine. Both users edited the file before the preview was rendered. The next day some objects were moved around and the file resaved (we did not do another preview render). At this point all of the normal maps still reported an error pertaining the incorrect usage. At the end of the day the render was started and in the morning all of the bump / normal amounts were randomized. Like I said, this not only affected the bump slots which had a normal map but all of the bump slots.
It may totally be our fault, I'm just appreciative for any brainstorming we can come up with here to figure out what really happened.
Also, a V-Ray to Corona converter plugin was ran in between but on a totally different scene file for a different project.
