When I try to render my image, it stays on Preparing Scene Data. When I try to exit out of it, it freezes my C4D?
-
Are you rendering to the picture viewer?
Can you upload the scene file?
-
how big is the scene?
how many polys?
whats your specs - enough RAM?
do you use displacement?
give us some details, its usually very simple reason.
-
Yes displacement would be my guess if you're using it. Try increasing the pixel thresh in the settings and also optimise the displacement map so it's not as detailed. Either that or you might be pushing your ram like koldi said.

Hi guys,
I experience the same problem. I tried with a scene that was checked by another user and it works fine there. Just a simple cube and sun. Even with an empty scene - same problem. Preparing just goes on and on - 0% CPU load while preparing, no RAM changes while preparing. Just doing nothing.
Glad for any help, would really like to give Corona a try :)
Kind Regards

Are you renderering to picture viewer or using corona interactive?
-
I've tried both rendering in Viewport and Picture Viewer - neither does work.
-
Is you is or is you cinema updated? ;)
-
I'm using R15.064 - should be the latest R15 update available.
-
could be an R15 issue, I haven't had that on R17. There's a new alpha due soon, that might deal with it?
One other idea is sometimes C4D plugins don't play nicely together, might be worth clearing any other plugins out temporarily to see if that has any effect.
-
Yeah, I might just wait for the next alpha and if it doesn't work then I'll try some other options. I hope it's no R15 issue though, also I don't suspect it, because there sure are other R15 users and it says that R15 is supported.

Corona Benchmark runs fine by the way.
-
Same with newest a5. :(
-
Had same issue (hang while Preparing Data) with the latest (a5), solved by removing old render settings and making new one.
-
Hmm doesn't work for me sadly :(
-
Are you using custom startup file - new.c4d? If so, please try removing it. There are known cases of problems like this when re-rendering a scene saved with older Corona version. This could also happen if you are rendering an older file.
-
Update - it works now for me. I had a "new.c4d" - but it wasn't the problem. It seems my preferences in general were causing it. For testing I deleted them completely so C4D would create clean ones, and now it works.
But do you have an idea what exactly might be causing this? I carry my prefs with me for a long time, since I customized a lot and it would be nice to be able to keep them.
